I didn't know why I was so sleepy, tired and thirsty all the time unitl I got my sugar checked. I was throught the roof! When I got my sugar level under control, I felt like a new man in just a few days!
If your sugar gets high enough you will feel tired and develop polyuria and polydypsia = frequency of passing urine and thirst. The level that individuals get these symptoms does vary.
Some people suffering with diabetes can't recognise their own symptoms. What I normally look out for is tail tell signs of the eyes, do you feel tired and withdrawn. Do you get angry and frustrated. Do you have mood swings. Do you get a hot sweat as though you have just come out the bath. Do you feel dehydrated and want to drink lots of water. Are you forgetful. The above are signs that I have recognised in people with diabetes whether it is type one or type two diabetes. I hope this helps.
