help, im 18 and have a bit of a lisp. some ppl even tell me i do and it makes me feel bad!! i went to speech therapy when i was like 11-13 yrs. about but apparently it didnt help. im just wondering where u put your tongue when saying ? mine goes in the middle..
Answer:Sometimes it depends on the shape and size of your tongue. If it's too big or awkward, it gets hard to talk. I know my tongue is a little fatter than usual and I have problems saying my S's. I've gotten better though. It didn't help that I pierced my tongue. People with lisps should NOT pierce their tongue.
I have a lisp too! I also tried speech therapy as a child and it didnt help me. I'm 28 now, and learned to live with it. People have actually told me its an endearing quality. If it bothers you a lot, try speech theray again...but really, its no big deal!

there is nothing wrong with a lisp because it makes one unique. my tongue hits the back of my upper teeth when i speak.
My nephew had a lisp for a while. he went to therapy, but it took him a long time before he lost it. If you're saying an "s" word, my front teeth are touching, my tongue is almost touching my front teeth as I hiss... try that. lol hope it works. and don't let what other people say bother you, they are just self conscience about something else in their life...
