Sore/Pimple on upper back

I have had this sore thing that looks like a pimple on my back for a few months now but it hasn't healed or gone away. It feels sore when I touch it but it just won't go away which makes me think that it's not acne. Any suggestions on what it could be?
Answer:Sounds like a boil and should be treated with medication or maybe even to be lanced open and drained. A boil is caused by a staff infection that sometimes can be treated simply by taking antibiotics and to help with the pain just apply a warm wash cloth (warm water on wash cloth) to the boil for a couple of minutes several times per day.
Go see your doctor.
