Should he switch doctors
ok my dad is really sick. he has diabetes, and some other stuff wrong. his doctor, which is like anywhere from 60 to 80 years old. he is really old. his name is doctor crisp. he has him taking 17 pills a day. some in the morning, and some at night. my dad drinks. 2-3 times a week. my aunt is a nurse, and says that alcohal lowers your blood sugar. when ever my dad goes to the doctors office, which is every 6 months, he stopps drinking, because he dosen't want the doctor to get mad at him.because he dosen't drink, his blood sugar goes higher. his doctor wantsd to give him even more pills. right now, his bottom teeth are starting to spread apart from all the medicine he has to take. should he switch doctors? like to a younger one? he wants to, but then he dosen't want to have to go see the doctor every 3 months, because that's what they will make him do. should he?
Answer:The problem isn't his doctor. It's his own behavior. There's nothing you can do about that.
Only your dad can decide if he is comfortable with his doctor. If he feels like he isnt getting the best care, he should switch. And the last thing he should be worrying about is going every 3 months...if he truly feels like his doc is not giving him proper care, he should be happy to be monitered by a new doc more often.

I agree that the doctor isnt the problem. Doctors cannot read minds, they can only judge by the tests done at the time and the results that they show. Perhaps a family member should go and address the concerns you have. Ultimately, he will have to be honest about his lifestyle in order to receive the best care.
I am a diabatic and if I drink alcohol, glucophage( one of the medicine becomes ineffective. so your dad's drinking lowers his sugar does not make any sence.
