Should a tetanus shot turn red and itchy

Answer:

Yep. And it can last as long as 3 weeks. It can also swell up and feel like a knot under your skin. I'll bet you wonder how I know this?

I don't think so. Call the health department and ask them.
I am not sure about the itchy part - but my five year just got a tetnus shot and the part of the injection turned red and his shoulder swelled up alittle bit and was quite firm. The nurse said that was normal and would last sometimes last up to a month depending on the persons reaction. But I say if it doesn't go away after a week of the injection I would call your doctor - you can always put ointment on the spot to help with the itchy.

Hope that helps
