Shaking hand when nervous or just normal
i have noticed lately that my best friends hand shakes quite alot. i first noticed it when we were about to go on the giant swing at camp and she was just about to go on it and she couldnt tighten her harness because her hands were shaking so much. she is quite a shy person when she is uncomfortable and when we are in class and stuff se dosent talk to anyone really except for the other 5 people in our friendship circle. and when she does talk to people like the 'popular' group you can tell she is very uncomfotable. lol anyway going of track a bit here.my question is that is she suffering from a bit of anxiety here becuse her hands shake a bit? or is it just how she is? is she ok? and should i talk to her to see if everything is ok? sorry if it dosent quite make sense!!
Answer:If your friend is not on drugs or medication then you have nothing to worry about, this is a sign of nervousness. I was shy when younger and my hands used to shake every time i became anxious. This will leave her as time passes and she will become more comfortable in different types of social groups. You have nothing to worry about.
Yeah ask her about it b/c it could be a problem. But be gentle b/c it could be a sensitive thing for her.
My husband has this, and his is called "Essential Tremor." it is not tied to anxiety -- he just shakes. At one point he worried that it was Parkinson's, but it is not. Maybe that is what your friend has.
