Saccharin in toothpaste
Why, oh why, do companies continue to put saccharin in their toothpaste and oral hygiene products when it is a know cancer causer (besides because it's allowed by the FDA)? Sure you spit it out, but what if you got bleeding gums or something? And after decades of using the stuff don't you think it may at least accelerate cancer if not be the outright cause of it?
Answer:Saccharin only causes cancer if you are a laboratory rat and you eat ten thousand times the recommended daily dose. Worst thing it does is scrub out your kidneys. You get more carcinogens from a burnt piece of toast or a well done hamburger. I would worry far more about aspartame, since it causes some people to be irritable and hungry, causes night blindness in others and causes brain damage for folks who are allergic to the main ingredient. I drink saccharin in my coffee everyday and I only wish I could still get it in soda. I pretty much gave up on soda when I discovered I have a choice between aspartame and corn syrup. (Dr. Pepper just came out with a variety that is made with simple sugar though and my wife likes that a lot)
There is not enough in there to warrant your hysteria. chill
