Its below my elbow, I had a family physician look at it a long time ago, he said it is just a cosmetic issue. I cant remember what kind of doctor he said I would need to go to in order to get rid of it. Does anyone know?
Answer:It depends on where it is.
If it is IN the elbow joint- then an orthopedist.
If it is on the skin, then either a dermatologist can excise it or if your dermatologist won't do cosmetic procedures, then a cosmetic surgeon (who you can just goggle for a local one).
your best bet would be to ask your general practictioner ( family doctor) who he reccomends because cists can sometimes become infected and its not a pretty site.
he should be able to do it himself or the surgeon at your hospital =if it is leaking then hospital coverage will pay for it
If it is a ganglion cyst it is harmless and could dissolve on it's own given time. Sebaceous cysts usually "pop" and resolve on their own if you keep the area keep and protected. Just leave it alone and let nature take its course.
