My son is experiencing some abdominal discomfort apparently after eating rice. We have been trying thourh elimination to determine if it is in fact the rice. Any links to or information in regards to rice allergy or reaction would be appreciated.
Answer:I agree. Rice allergy is one of the few that is virtually impossible to be allergic to! Rice is something many ppl turn to when allergic to other grains or have Celiac Disease. I, too have Celiac disease and it took years to determine. I suggest not doing an elimination diet on your own. I suggest you seek medical help, get blood tested for Celiac Disease and other allergies and THEN begin the elmiination diet with a doc's help.
Best of luck, Amy Chairperson Celiac Disease support group
I have Celiac disease and am thus gluten intolerant and can't have anything with wheat, barley, rye, oats, etc. One thing I learned when going through the steps to find out my problem was that it is highly improbable to have an allergy to rice. It is slightly possible however, especially is you descend from a Eastern European country. Keep trying different combos of food elimination. Good luck!
