Planters Wart

health advisory Hospital Diseases 2007-11-12 20:33:57

I have a huge planters wart on the bottom of my foot and its painful to walk on... I have had it frozen 2 times by the doctor and it didn't seem to help... I also have a ton of smaller ones on my pinki toe. what should I try next to get the warts off?? Thanks!!

Answer:

I used to have plantar warts. I used to refer to them as my colony because there were so many (and I was young and using 'colony' amused me). They were small, but they covered about a third of one of my feet and they hurt like yours.

Treatment?

I tried the liquid nitrogen, too. I did it weekly for months. It didn't help much. The warts came back.

I also tried some sort of big band aid. I think it had a lotion or something on it. When it was pulled off after being on for a week, the warts came with it. I got that from my doctor but it may be available without one. The warts came back with this one, too.

Another doctor suggested tagamet. I think that tagamet is actually for indegestion or something, but the doc said it would help with the warts. It didn't. It's really expensive, too, if you're buying it for warts.

Oddly, mine did go away even though nothing I tried worked. I started taking a multi-vitamin and noticed that the warts were gone a few weeks later. That sounds incredibly strange even to me, but I haven't had a plantar wart in at least seven years. I did stop taking my vitamin for a few years and they didn't come back, but the vitamin is the only thing that I can attribute to the warts going away.
