My son have g6pd doctors told us not to give him nuts too is this trueor only beans &some medica
There are variants in the G6PD deficiency disorder, but so far as I know the only foodstuff that must be avoided is fava beans. If you would like to know more about this disorder, check out http:// www.g6pd.org
It's not the first time I've heard of patients being told to avoid nuts, or even beans of all sorts- but in the cases I've worked with it has never been needed. I certainly would not want to second guess your son's doctors, but I think you might want to educate yourself so you can put them on the spot regarding their instructions. Unless your son suffers from other allergies or problems, then it should not be a problem for him to eat nuts or beans.
If the doctor said it, why wouldn't it be true? If you REALLY want a 2nd opinion, take him to ANOTHER doctor!
erm i wouldn't go against ANY doctor's opinion on here- god knows i wouldn't trust my own answers let alone what anyone else might tell you lol!
The doctor is correct and just airing on the side of caution for to reasons, 1 - Nuts are highly allergenic and can negatively effect your child if he is susceptible to reaction to these type of foods (Peas beans and nuts) so nut avoidance is probaby safer.
2 - Nut scan be stored with beans and other ingredients so where as nuts might be fine any other food contamination on the nuts might not be okay for your child and so it is safer to avoid nuts until the doctor gives the all clear
