Why is it so hard to lose weight for most people All they have to do is not eat so much

It works wonders if you eat too much, but there are as many reasons for stubborn weight as there are people. I'm afraid real research into the lesser or easier things isn't quite up to speed yet. All you have to do is look at the result we get daily that contradict the results we had yesterday on nutrition and health to realize that we are in the infancy of bariatric medicine.
If you have been eating a quart of ice cream a day and cut back to three ounces, you will lose weight, but at some point you will have to do more to lose more and thats where it seems to become tricky if the cutting back doesn't give you the degree of loss that you wish, you cut back more, then more, then you begin to feel depressed and angry that that isn't working for you and you wonder why should you deprive yourself when its not letting you lose weight, so you step up your exercise and if that doesn't work its all over. Men, by the way lose weight faster and easier than women do, so don't judge all others by your own experience. Also see where you are in 5 years, almost 95% of people who have lost weight have gained it back in that time frame. No where else would we advise following a plan that works so rarely in a medical context, and the excuse that those 95% are lying about their diets is delusional.
What you are doing is working for you so that is great. I too have proven the value of eating less (especially the high calorie stuff) but I also seem to need more exercise. That is the winning combo for me. Maybe you'll try more exercise also and see what happens. You don't need an indoor gymn membership....just put on some walking shoes and go walking. Do it fast enough so there will be aerobic gain plus increased metabolism. You'll weigh less...look better...feel better...live longer. Best Wishes.
