Why does it hurt so much

I am 15 and I started doing about 25 push ups in the morning and night. I wanted to know why does it hurt around my arms and chest???

Answer:

When you work out, you exert your muscles beyond their normal means. This creates micro-tears in the muscle. You feel this as soreness as the muscles rebuild themselves. Make sure to eat within 30 minutes after working out and stay hydrated! Once you get into a steady routine, the soreness will fade.

maybe cuz ur using muscles that you haven't used in a while so it just sore. After couple of times u'll get used to it and it'll go away.
Because our sore. BUT that will go a way.
how long have you been doing this? if you just started its because you are basically breaking down the muscle so you are sore. it'll go away in a few days but keep doing the push ups or else it'll come back. when you start doing more it'll be sore again for a little while, but the outcome is so worth it
You have DOMS
when you do push ups, you are actually working out your chest as well as your triceps. Your chest probably has not been worked out before, so its not used to the work and is just repairing itself, this is a good sore though, once its done repairing, it will be even stronger. Keep doing them and think of the soreness as good.
Because your using muscles you may not have used before. When doing the push up, try to concentrate on pushing up with your chest (pecs) muscles. Less emphasis on the arm strength and you will get more benefits for the push up
