Why do my veins bulge out of my hands and forearms

health advisory Diet Diet 2007-11-11 21:06:08

I am a lean person and also very muscular. 15% body fat, 5'6", 130lb. I do cardio and lift regularly.

As I get older (age 30), my veins just seem to be bulging out of my hands and forearms. They are quite unsightly. I know this may be partly because I am lean, but I see other very thin women that don't have this problem.

What gives?

P.S. No veins popping out of my legs.

Answer:

this is known as "vascularity", & is more common in guys, since guys "tend" to have less upper body fat. I bet the phlebotomists love you!

Yes, it is because you are lean. The more you exercise & the better your circulation becomes, the more they will become visible. It is actually a sign of health.

Well i dont rely now but my boy has the same thang
It is due to the lack of fat in your very lean and muscular body. The leaner you are in certain areas the more prominent the veins will be.
more pressure???
