Why are there so few fat asian people
There are a couple reasons for this. One reason is that asian food is generally healthier than most American food. Japanese cuisine has a lot of fish, vegetables, green tea, and soy products while U.S. food has more meat, Cola-Cola, and starch. Another reason is that portion sizes are different. In Japan, servings of food are generally small. In America there is a "super size" portion of food. Another aspect that I have noticed personally is a difference in American sweets and Japanese sweets. American candy and other sweets are very rich while Japanese sweets have more of a natural sweetness to them.
Since I am of Japanese descent and have had Japanese food quite often I am using Japanese examples and not talking about other ethnic foods because I don't know that much about them. Also I'm not saying that there are no fat people in Asia. There are just less of them compared to America. There are probably less fat people in every country all over the earth compared to America though.
could be a number of reasons, but the "dietary" aspect is prob. a major factor
vegetables,green tea,rice, etc. you can see that with the second,third,fourth generation asian americans, obesity, heart disease and diabetes has gone up, because their diets are no longer the same as they used to be
although i love my meat, i would say roughly 40% of my meals is composed of vegetables and fruits, followed by grain, followed by meat, and then dairy products
