I have been doing 45 min of the ellipitical machine 5 days a week for 3 weeks, yet i have not shed a pound i look the same in fact, my clothes fit a little more tight around the waist and hip area. what's going on ??

i started going to the gym to lose fat and weight but nothing seems to work ( after the 45 min i also do 30 min of resistance training. somebody help me.!!

If exercise alone isn't making a difference, it could be the foods you're eating. Diets high in sugary foods (which includes many diet products) and simple carbs like white bread make losing weight difficult.


You may be losing fat and immediately putting the weight back on by exercising and gaining muscle.

You might want to try eating a lower calorie diet, but still exercising at the rate you are.


do resistance training 1st, about 45 minutes or so. then get on the elliptical for about 1/2 hour. change up your routine a little, work different muscles different days, and cut out the soda and twinkies
drink lots of water - and make sure you are eating enough calories for the exercise you are doing.

have you cut out empty calorie food and drinks from your diet? such as soda, juice, alcohol, candy? things that have no nutritional value but lots of calories?

also, you didnt mention about your eating habits, but many people tend to be eating more than they think they do. try starting a journal or log of all the foods you eat, to be sure you are eating enough, but at same time, not too much.
