Answer:Technically, all fruits and vegetables are good for you, but some are healthier than others.
For the healthiest fruit, there are many conflicting opinions. To my understanding, it's always a tug-of-war between the apple and berries.
Apples, unlike tropical fruits (bananas, pinapples, oranges, etc.) apples are grown in temperate forests, so there's less sun. And if you remember photosynthesis ;), less sun means less sugar. So it breaks out slower in your body compared to tropical fruits. Apples are a good source of dietary fiber, which may reduce the risk of heart disease and some types of cancer. Of course it has plenty of vitamin C (one apple a day keeps the doctor away), and potassium (around 150 mg for a medium apple, not as much as a banana, but...you get the idea).
Blueberries are considered to be "literally bursting with nutrients and flavor", but they are very low in calories. (I think it's around 85 or so calories per cup.) "Recently, researchers at Tufts University analyzed 60 fruits and vegetables for their antioxidant capability. Blueberries came out on top, rating highest in their capacity to destroy free radicals." They are credited to having many anti-cancer properties and are related to the Brazilian berry, which has been deemed the healthest berry. And I really have no criticism except that they are SO expensive. Half a cup can get up to five dollars, and well, you could buy a lot of apples with that. ;) It's your choice.
