do you burn more calories, i had the flu and i lost so far about 3 pounds, does your body butn more calories trying to get well?
Answer:Your body burns up the calories when you have a fever. And you usually eat less when you're sick.
sounds logical, idk.
but i know that when im sick i usually dont eat much which gives me less calories to burn in the first place.
Yes, because of an increase in metabolism trying to fight off the "issue" going on inside your body.
Are you sure you weren't eating less.
Or throwing up.
I think you usually lose fluids.
I just guess you're body's generally not feeling well, so it's using all it's recources to get well, but exercise is sth that reqires more energy to be used, so it gets used up faster. also, if it's a flu, you tend to have a lesser appetite and sweat more because your system is getting rid of the toxins that way. the weight you were losing could be partially liquid that normally wouldn't be used.
no it just doesnt take as much calories and there is so much stuff going on in your body thats why you burn so many calories and you use your fat when your sick thats why you need it
When you are sick, the LAST thing on your mind is a juicy peice of cjocolate cake. So most stick to crackers, soup or whatever they can keep down. I ate nothing but jell-o for two weeks and lost about 5 pounds. Also throwing up is like doing crunches, I threw up 10 times one day then lost 3 pounds the next day :) its still not woeth it though :(
yes especially if your running a fever..your body has to work extra hard to heal it self
