What is the difference between obese and morbidly obese
My doctor told me that I was morbidly obese in October, now I am border line obese/overweight. Can anyone tell me the difference.
Answer:Obese is 20% or more over ideal. Morbid obesity is 100 pounds or more over ideal.
A BMI of 30.0 - 39.9 is obese
A BMI of 40.0 or higher is severely (or morbidly) obese
Well basically your BMI(body Mass Index)
Is much more lower than it was before, maybe you exceeded BMI of 40,
Don't worry Underweight/Normal/Overweight/... Obese
are just terms used on the way people are IDENTIFIED with their BMI.
Also if your tall, it really doesn't show much, but its always a good idea to keep up what you are doing to loose weight
Morbidly obese means you are obese enough that it can kill you because of the extra strain it puts on your entire body whereas obese just means you are overweight.
Obese is being a bit overweight.
Morbidly obese is having too much weight and the strain on your heart and blood vessels is enough to cause serious health problems.
Wow, congratulations.
There is a huge difference between being borderline overweight/obsese and being morbidly obese. Being obese means you are about 30lb overweight, being morbidly obese, means you are closer to being 100lb overweight.
Well done for losing the weight : )
