I need to be more flexible for high kicks. When I stretch far or try high kicks I have a pain in my hip.
Answer:Yoga is great for increasing strength and flexibility.
lots of practice. you can only become more flexible gradually.
To become flexible enough to do the splits, practice doing the splits. Hold it for at least 30 seconds with a light stretch, every day if you can. You might want to see a physio about your hip pain though.
if you are not naturally flexible it takes some time. the best time to stretch is immediately after cardio when the muscles/tendons/ligaments are warm and pliable.
