Answer:
2lb a week, no more.
those that you think you can achieve
Realistic ones ..... otherwise if you set your target too high its a waste of time.... a bit at a time is the best way
Don't "try" to lose weight. Try to change your habits. Instead of a coke, try a diet coke. Pick up skim milk next time. Instead of a half hour of tv, do some work around the house or exercise. People who try to lose weight usually have a hard time doing it.
I would recommend writing down things to do and placing them on a 24 hour timeline. Try to stick with it and before long its as normal as going to bed and waking up.
Weight loss should be slow and steady... to give your body time to adjust. If you get carried away and lose the weight too quickly you are more likely to put the weight back on as your body will go into starvation mode and desperately try and hold onto all the calories you eat. Aim to loose around 2lbs a week - that's a good amount. :-)
something reasonable, if you try to reach something stupid you will feel defeated all the time. also try and create goals in the short term as well as the long term, it will help you stay on track
good luck!! x
Resist the temptation to rely on the scale to gage your progress. Go by reduction in body fat percentage rather than reduction in pounds. If you must weigh yourself, do so only every other week and keep it in perspective.
just give yourself a goal weight say one stone at a time that is if you are a few stone overweight even half a pound is quite a large lump look at a packet of lard keep one in the fridge as the weight comes off that is an inspiration if you lose one pound then that would be two packs as so forth you could lose a few the first week but it does slow down don't give yourself unreasonable goals its easier to keep off if you do it sensible bit by bit
"Slow but steady wins the race". Regular exercise is the corner-stone. Low calorie, low fat, no animal fat, preferably vegan diet, may be lacto-vegan is better. One small serving of fish for omega-3 fats is also recommended.
Choosing goals based on what you want is best. If you want to lose weight, you obviously want to weigh less, so the scale comes into play but it's just a mechanical box so shouldn't be worshiped like a God. I like working toward small achievable goals, meaning 5 pounds at a time (or less), even if you have much more to lose. Once you reach the first five, you work on the next. That way the tendency to be overwhelmed doesn't happen.
