WHy when you diet they say you should eat 5-7 small meals a day ....y not just eat one regular meal, because me personally only eats once a day and thats dinner....just curious

Eating once a day will make your body think that it's staving to death and will force itself to save as much fat as possible as a matter of survival. We evolutionized through a time of food scarcity and relied on the genetic make up of our bodies to store fat as survival. Things have changed on our food supply but our genes haven't. You must eat several small nutritious meals a day.

It's very simple. When you eat your stomach takes 20 minutes to communicate to your brain that it's full. Eat slowly so you feel full at the right time and avoid overeating. The bigger the meal the bigger the load for the body to digest and the more chances that all of that food won't be turned in energy and most likely will be stored as fat which will be harder to burn later on. You can eat small meals and avoid the overload of energy and cut the chances that food will be turned into fat.

You also must watch the quality of the calories you eat and avoid empty calories. Example, a soda has 180 calories for example, and beans have also 180 calories. Theoretically they should both make you just as fat. But they won't, the soda will make you fatter, why? because it's all white sugar and hits your blood sugar levels too high and it's not possible to burn all of the overloaded sugar and will be stored as fat. Where the beans have fiber and will be absorbed a lot slower and more time will be given to them to be burned as energy and not stored as fat.
