WHATS up with these teens thinking they are fat
How can we?
My mom is always thinking she's fat too... I heard some psychologist on Oprah say that's detrimental towards a teen's perspective.
I AM FAT!
If everyone else is slimmer than you, the boys hardly ever look at you, you're so uncomfortable in your skin that you hate skirts or even capris - it's the way it is.
I wish more curvaceous bodies were popular - but what can we do?
It's true though. Every single letter. We're all self-centered on how UGLY we are, not how pretty.
We're put down for being smart, wearing even glasses... svelte bodies are the NORM, not even just unnaturally skinny.
How can I help it? Something that's been ingrained in my mind for years?
I am ugly. And I know it. At least I think I know it.
And that's what a lot of teens are thinking. Not only teens, but young girls in middle school and even elementary school.
Every compliment is just flipped over in my mind - "Oh, she's just lying to make me feel better."
Trust me - I've tried. This self-obsession is the most time consuming and emotional drying thing I've ever had. It's so hard to struggle with. I'm trying, and getting more involved in religion and such - but it's so HARD. And Dove/Girl Scouts are not going to solve the problem, no matter how wonderful their campaigns are.
I am. ugly. What I am I going to do about it? I can't change it.
Ugh. And those are my inner thoughts, that I keep down underneath the surface.
