Why is it important to extract the wisdom if it not erupted beyond 24 years
depending on how your wisdom teeth are growing in, you may not need an extraction. usually and x-ray is taken to see if the tooth is impacted or not. If the tooth isn't growing in straight, then an extraction is a must. by the tooth growing an an angle, it can damage the adjacent tooth and eventually causing a root canal or other major damage, not to mention tons of pain and extra unnessary expenses. it is in your best interest to have them taken out instead of risking further damage in the future to your teeth and mouth. it seems costly now, but the price of not having them taken out is even more costly. it is in your best interest to take those suckers out. they are non-fuctioning teeth. you don't use them anyway.
so the dentist can make money
dont extract it.God plan it that way..To fill the missing link.
i am 52, got a wisdom tooth 2 yrs ago. (!!!!!) dentist said "they rot if not removed" I have had no problem. yet, the 2 on the bottom erupted when I was 27 and they were impacted and infected and had to be removed.
I must be in a lot of trouble...I am 30 and haven't had mine extracted.
But I don't even have anything coming through. Maybe that is just your dentist's preference on the procedure?
