The answer to your question is... because the longer they spend with you, the longer the next patient has to wait... and if the patient waits a long time, $$$$ goes down for the dentist.

If you trust your health-care provider, you should have confidence in his/her choices. They know their lab and they know your mouth. If you have questions about alternative treatment, ask! If your dentist is rushed, perhaps there has been an emergency in the schedule, or maybe they overbook routinely.

You are paying for more than just materials and labor - you are paying for a professional's training, skill, and experience. If you don't trust them, find another dentist.
