I was born with black gums and so was my mother. Why do I have black gums?
Answer:From your aviator you look to be dark skinned, if you are African American that is a natural trait, some are darker then others, or patchy. It is genetic of that ethnic back ground.
obviosuly its just a birth defect. i would ask your dentist next time you go. they will know!
Next time you have a dental appointment (checkup), ask them if it is normal. People have different shades of color to their gums at least minimally having different genes. A dentist should be able to tell you for free or for a minimal charge whether it is from melatonin or a gum disorder.
I think its just genetics and just the way you are, sort of like hair color, skin tone, foot size..just the way it goes. Guess it makes you special and unique.
I was born the same way and I actually hate it. I think its just genetics cause its like this in most of my family.
