Answer:no. it actually doesnt stay in your stomach. it stays in as long as anything else.
It can get lodged in your throat and kill you. In fact, you should do it. Decrease the world's population.

yep I always do, I know its probably bad for me but im lazy and I certainly would not spit it out on the street so I just swallow it with a drink or something.
You just digest it for real, but no I don't swallow it.

I dont, my mum told me it wraps around your lungs when I was a kid and its still in the back of my mind
i never swallow chewing gum, that's because i know that it can take up to 7 years to get digested in the stomach.:)

My Mother used to frighten us as kids, she used to say we must not swallow gum as it will wrap around our heart.Fright or not it stopped us doing it.
i do, every time. i would rather swallow it than be like all the other ignorant louts who spit it on the floor!!!! next time you walk down the street look at the pavement and try counting how many bits you see!!! its disgusting!!! (pet peeve of mine)

children caught chewing gum in class..I don't understand why people think it's arrogant to chew gum in class as long as you're not being ostentatious.you know, for them chewing gum in class also means sacrifice if they swallow it...teachers should be aware of that :P
