Okay, well i have the option of either getting the normal metal braces and it being free on the NHS, or i can pay 拢2000 to get ceramic ones, and get treated like a private patient and get seen to more often with replacements and retainers in the price. My parents are happy to pay the money, but i don't know whether it's worth it or not. Since i hate my teeth, i want the best thing.

If you are going to get the motal braces for free then i would recommend them, even if you get the ceramic ones, they are still noticable so i would just get metal

If you drink lots of dark liquids like coffee, tea, soda, remember ceramic stains. So, take into account that the color may also change. I say just make it easy on everybody and go for the metal.

if i were you id go with the metal. like mentioned above the ceramic ones stain. even with things like mustard and such.

i chose metal over ceramic and i never wished i could go back and change it.

Ceramic braces can be seen, no matter what people tell you. Lots of times people just aren't sure if did not brush or what is on your tooth. The repairs and retainers are usually included in the price of braces in the US, so maybe that is something to check on. Ceramic braces also break easier. They do however feel smoother to the lip. Check on the price difference for your folks. Believe or not, after your teeth straighten , people will look at them and not really notice the brces even if they are metal. How do you know? If you don't tell anyone you had them removed, most people think you had a hair cut! One is not necessarily better than the other. Their might be some advanced technology in the ceramic. The tips and tilts your teeth do to straighten are built in to the brace as well as what they do with wire and rubber bands. So ask!
